Ashland F.D. Secured a MEMA Performance Grant
The Ashland Fire Department recently secured an Emergency Management Performance Grant from MEMA to strengthen core emergency functions. This funding will be used to restock their emergency shelter trailer and update supplies for community resilience.
The Ashland Fire Department plans to utilize the funds for several essential equipment and supply purchases:
- Cooling Stations: Acquiring two large 60-gallon misting fans to help residents during extreme heat events.
- Emergency Shelter Operations: Stocking 150 first aid kits to prepare for disaster response.
- Hygiene Supplies: Purchasing 100 feminine hygiene kits and 100 unisex hygiene kits to ensure basic needs are met at the shelter.
